Homework 

Standard Grade - Higher/Int 2

GENERAL

  • Pupils are encouraged to put an entry into school homework diaries on the date PE homework is due to be handed in.
  • Teachers encouraged to record in daybooks the date homework is due and note any pupils who do not hand pieces of work in on time.
  • Pupils who forget homework are given a verbal warning from class teacher and given a second deadline for the return of work.
  • Pupils with a pattern for forgetting homework are reported to Principal Teacher.
  • Staff use log at parents’ evenings to report on pupils’ standard of work and punctuality of homework returns.
  • Certificate classes all pupils are expected to take PE folders home to help revise for exams.
STANDARD GRADE PE
 
  • Pupils will be given written notes on knowledge & understanding topics throughout S3 and 4. Pupils are expected to read over notes as part of their homework each week.
  • Homework sheets/booklets are issued at various times throughout the course with set deadlines for completion.
  • Web charts are available as revision aids for each topic. These are to compliment written notes.
  • CD Roms are available from PE department to use at home to practice evaluating skills.
  • A revision website is available for pupils: sgpegolspiehigh.wikispaces.com Podcasts are available for pupils who prefer to listen to information on knowledge & understanding rather than reading course notes. Presentations, Information sheets, video's, links and quick tests are also on this website to do some revision at home.

HIGHER/INT 2 PE
 
  • Pupils are issued with course notes for each topic and encouraged to read over them to assist in gathering information.
  • Pupils are given one piece of homework each week during term 1 and 2. These pieces of work are based round the cycle of analysis and try to cover the three study areas.
  • Pupils are encouraged to use the internet to do background reading on certain topics.
  • All pupils are encouraged to buy Leckie & Leckie study books to help with revision.
  • During term 3 pupils are expected to move onto 20 mark questions as homework pieces
  • During exam leave pupils are given in school study days to help prepare for PE exam.
